Nutanix and Port 5000 change

If you are using a Nutanix hypervisor and the default port 5000 is already in use, you can follow these steps to change the port for Policy Validation:

  1. Log in to the server using the GYTPOLSVC account.

  2. Open the "C:\gytpol\data\RsopRepository\Config\urls.json" file in a text editor.

  3. Look for the "gpmcProxyBaseUrl" configuration setting. This setting specifies the base URL for the GPMC Proxy service.

  4. Change the port value to a port number that is not already in use. For example, you can change it to port 5050.

  5. Save the changes to the "urls.json" file.

 

To configure the necessary environment variables for GYTPOL, follow these steps:

Open the Advanced System Settings:

  • Right-click on "This PC" or "My Computer" (depending on your Windows version) on the desktop or in the File Explorer.

  • Select "Properties."

  1. In the System Properties window, click on the "Advanced" tab.

  2. Under the "Advanced" tab, click the "Environment Variables..." button.

  3. In the Environment Variables window for the user, click the "New..." button under the "User variables" section.

  4. Enter the following details:

  1. Click the "OK" button to save the new environment variable.

  2. Close the Environment Variables and System Properties windows.

  3. To apply the changes, restart the "gytpol GPMCPROXY" and "gytpol Data Repository" services:

  • Open the Services application:

    • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.

  • Find and select the "gytpol GPMCPROXY" service, right-click on it, and choose "Restart."

  • Find and select the "gytpol Data Repository" service, right-click on it, and choose "Restart."
