Step-by-Step Guide for Deploying the GYTPOL MSI Package through Microsoft Intune
This document provides a step-by-step guide on how to deploy the GYTPOL MSI package to enrolled devices using Microsoft Intune.
Download the GYTPOL MSI Installer
Ensure you have downloaded the GYTPOL MSI installer from the System Health screen in the GYTPOL SaaS Console. You can find this in the left menu pane under Settings.
Steps for Deployment
Login to Microsoft Endpoint Manager Admin Center
Open your browser and go to https://endpoint.microsoft.com
Log in with your administrator credentials.
Navigate to Apps
In the left-hand menu, go to Apps > All apps.
Add a New Intune Application
Click on + Add to add a new Intune application for deployment.
Select App Type
From the App type drop-down menu, select Line-of-business app.
Upload the MSI Package
Click on App package file to upload the
gytpolClient<x86_x64>.MSI
file to Intune.Click OK after selecting the file.
Configure App Information
Click on App Information to configure the application details.
Fill in the following details:
Name: Enter a name for the application (e.g., GYTPOL Sensor).
Description: Provide a description for the application.
Publisher: GYTPOL LTD.
Category: Optionally, select a category for the app.
Display this as a featured app in the Company Portal: Check this if you want the app to be featured.
Logo: Optionally, upload a logo for the app.
Click OK to save the information.
Assignment Options
After configuring the app information, the next page will appear for Intune MSI Application Deployment – Assignment Options.
Click on the Add Group button from the Assignment tab.
Select Assignment Groups
Select the groups where you want to assign this app. There are three assignment types:
Required: The app will be automatically installed on devices in the selected group.
Available for Enrolled Devices: The app will be available for users to install from the Company Portal.
Click on Included groups from Add Group.
Assign Groups
In the Assign section, click on Select Groups to select a group for the required assignment.
Use the search option to find and select the device/user group you want to deploy to.
Click Select to save and close the Select Groups dialog.
Click OK to save and close the Assign dialog.
Click OK to save and close the Add Group dialog.
Review and Save
Click Review + Save to save the assignment settings.
Review the values and settings you have entered for the app.
Create the App
When you have reviewed all settings, click Create to add the app to Intune.
By following these steps, you should be able to deploy the GYTPOL MSI package through Microsoft Intune successfully.
Syncing an App to an Enrolled Device
After deploying the application through Microsoft Intune, you can manually sync the application to an enrolled device to ensure it gets installed promptly. Follow these steps to sync the app on a Windows 10/11 device:
Go to the Enrolled Device
Ensure you have access to a Windows 10/11 device that is enrolled in Intune.
Open Settings
Right-click on the Windows icon (Start Menu) in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Select Settings from the context menu.
Navigate to Accounts
In the Settings window, click on Accounts.
Then, click on Access work or school in the left-hand menu.
Access Work or School Account
Locate your work or school account under Access work or school.
Click on the account to highlight it.
Sync the Device
Click on the Info button to access more details about the account.
In the account details page, click on the Sync button. This will force the device to sync with Intune and apply any pending app installations and policies.
By following these steps, you can manually sync the deployed application to an enrolled device, ensuring it is installed and available for use.
Status/Monitoring – Intune MSI Application Deployment
After deploying the GYTPOL MSI package through Microsoft Intune, you can monitor the status of the deployment to ensure it has been successfully installed on the target devices. Follow these steps to check the deployment status:

Login to Microsoft Endpoint Manager Admin Center
Open your browser and go to https://endpoint.microsoft.com
Log in with your administrator credentials.
Navigate to Apps
In the left-hand menu, go to Apps > All apps.
Check App Install Status
Click on App Install Status to view the status of all applications deployed through Intune.
Select the application you want to monitor (e.g., GYTPOL Sensor).
View Application Deployment Status
Click on the application name to open its details page.
Click on Overview to get a graphical view of the MSI application deployment status. This will display information such as the number of devices the application is installed on, the number of installations pending, and any installation failures.
Detailed Status Information
Device Install Status: Shows a list of devices and their individual installation statuses.
User Install Status: Displays the installation status for each user if the app was deployed based on user groups.
Error Details: Provides detailed error messages for any installation failures, helping you troubleshoot issues.
