Remedio Sensor Efficiency

Remedio Sensor Efficiency

Remedio is designed to deliver continuous security insight with minimal system impact. The sensor has an up to 8 MB deployment size and installs quickly without disrupting normal operations.

Each device runs a single full scan once per day, rather than continuously polling the system. The scan typically completes in 5–7 minutes, after which the sensor returns to an idle state. To prevent resource spikes across the environment, each device is assigned a randomized execution time within defined windows.

Execution windows are tailored by device type:

  • Servers: scans run during off-hours between 11:00 PM and 4:00 AM

  • Endpoints: scans run during business hours between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM

During the full scan, the sensor collects:

  • Misconfiguration data

  • Compliance status mapped to applicable benchmarks or custom-made

  • (Windows Active-Directory connected devices only) Actual Group Policy status per device, including applied settings, values, and enforcement state

This provides an accurate view of the real security and policy posture on each system, not just intended configuration.

Outside of the daily scan, the sensor performs a lightweight hourly check-in. This check-in is limited to sending a heartbeat and checking for any pending tasks, remediation actions, reverts, or sensor updates. No full scans or intensive processing occur during this interval.

During operation, the sensor maintains a small runtime footprint, typically using approximately 10–20 MB of RAM and less than 1% CPU. Daily network usage averages around 30 KB per device, making the sensor suitable for bandwidth-constrained environments.
